Enlightenment of Continuing Education Reform of Children's Stomatology Specialty
With the increasing demand for pediatric dentists in China,and in the face of rapidly updating medical knowledge,continuing education has become the preferred choice for pediatric dental specialists to keep their theoretical knowledge and clinical skills up-to-date.The People's Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region,a provincial-level Grade A general hospital,undertakes the continuing education of grassroots doctors from all over Xinjiang every year.It also sends doctors to top hospitals in China for advanced studies.Through the process of advanced studies in the Pediatric Dentistry Department at Peking University Hospital of Stomatology,this paper summarizes the training model and characteristics of the postgraduate students at Peking University's Department of Stomatology and Pediatrics,and the adaptations corresponding to the development trends in pediatric dentistry.This capability-oriented,individualized training model,which combines various teaching methods and emphasizes the integration of scientific research and clinical practice,is worthy of emulation.Additionally,the conducive learning atmosphere created in the Pediatric Department of Peking University profoundly influences the trainees,making the shift from passive to active learning a noteworthy development for consideration and emulation.
