Innovative and Practical Integration of Clinical Internship in Prosthodontics and Endodontics
Objective To investigate and analyze the current situation and existing problems of the 5th year clinical practice for the 2017 cohort of 5-year oral clinical medicine students at the Hospital of Stomatology Xi'an Jiaotong University,aiming to lay a foundation for the reform of teaching methods and enhancement of clinical practice quality for undergraduate students in the oral clinical major.Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted among 43 undergraduates from the 2017 cohort,who had their clinical practice undertaken at the Hospital of Stomatology Xi'an Jiaotong University from December 2021 to June 2022,and this was followed by a statistical analysis of the clinical practice effects.Results The survey results indicated high satisfaction with the teaching mode and lecture quality,with satisfaction rates of 90.70%and 95.35%respectively.In the self-assessment of clinical practice,students reported significant benefits in mastering case writing and solving common clinical conditions,with approval ratings of 81.40%and 76.71%respectively.These findings demonstrated that the clinical practice teaching mode generally achieved high satisfaction and effectively fostered students'abilities to systematically address clinical problems.Conclusion Clinical practice involving both dental prosthetics and endodontics significantly enhances students'abilities in clinical diagnosis and disease management.Therefore,the teaching reforms in this clinical practice are expected to further improve the overall quality of undergraduate clinical training.
