Application of Formative Assessment in Standardized Training for Ophthalmic Residents
Standardized training for ophthalmology residents is an important part of post-graduation medical education.The department of ophthalmology,Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University constantly improves the management and teaching methods for residents.Formative evaluation is introduced into the teaching activities such as lectures on standardized training for residents,teaching rounds and case discussions,guided by the Rules for Ophthalmology Training and recommended textbooks.Determine the scope of learning and evaluation,form the content of monthly teaching activities into a theoretical knowledge test paper,and conduct a closed-book examination for the research objects.After the examination papers were reviewed,they are fed back to the residents one by one,and the completion of each question is analyzed and fed back to the relevant teachers.Through a period of trial,it is found that the residents'mastery of knowledge points in teaching activities is significantly improved.A questionnaire survey of the participating teachers and residents shows that they all have a high degree of satisfaction with this training method.The application of formative evaluation in the theory teaching of standardized training for ophthalmology residents can mobilize the enthusiasm and initiative of residents to participate in teaching activities,improve their concentration and willingness to learn independently,promote after-class review and the study of relevant literature and books,help to master theoretical knowledge and improve academic performance.At the same time,this method is helpful for teachers to adjust the teaching content and methods in time,improve the teaching efficiency,and achieve the teaching purpose better.
