The exposure of pulp during the process of removing decay from deep caries primary teeth is very common in clinical practice.With the advances in pulp biology and the development of new pulp capping materials in recent years,the treatment concept of primary teeth with carious pulp exposure has also changed in the field of pediatric dentistry.At present,more doctors tend to adopt vital pulp therapy,which is to keep the vital pulp or part of the pulp as much as possible,in order to control infection and cure the affected teeth.This review will focus on the treatment methods of vital pulp therapy in primary teeth,the types and properties of pulp capping materials,and the factors affecting the success rate of vital pulp therapy.
