Knee osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease,with the main symptoms being joint pain,effusion,swelling,deformity,limited mobility,and functional impairment.Patients with clinical knee osteoarthritis often receive conservative treatment from Western medicine,but the long-term efficacy of western drugs is unsatisfactory,and surgical treatments also have many disadvantages.Moxibustion,as a traditional external treatment method in Chinese medicine,has satisfactory therapeutic effects on knee osteoarthritis.This article reviews the relevant literature on the clinical research progress of moxibustion treatment for knee osteoarthritis,from two aspects:moxibustion alone and moxibustion combined with other traditional Chinese medicine external treatment methods.It aims to provide more clinical treatment ideas for knee osteoarthritis and to suggest directions for more clinical research on traditional Chinese medicine external treatment methods for knee osteoarthritis.
