Correlation Analysis of Emotional Intelligence and Clinical Adaptability Among Nursing Students
Objective To understand the current status of emotional intelligence and clinical adaptability among undergraduate nursing students during internship,and to explore the correlation between them.Methods From November to December 2021,a questionnaire survey was conducted among 311 undergraduate nursing students from three medical colleges in Tianjin,using the general information questionnaire,emotional intelligence scale,and clinical maladjustment scale for nursing students.Results The total score of emotional intelligence among undergraduate nursing students was(60.48±9.13),with the highest score in the dimension of"self-emotion perception"and the lowest score in the dimension of"emotion management".The total score of clinical maladjustment among undergraduate nursing students was(99.19±16.49)points,with an average score of(3.54±1.05)points for each item.Among them,62.4%had good clinical adaptability,28.6%had mild maladjustment,and 9.0%had moderate to severe maladjustment.There was a positive correlation between emotional intelligence level and clinical maladjustment score(r=0.508,P<0.001).Conclusion The emotional intelligence level and clinical internship adaptability of undergraduate nursing students during internship are both at a moderate level.The higher the emotional intelligence level of undergraduate nursing students,the stronger their clinical adaptability during the internship.
