Application of Emergency Simulated Drilling Combined With Typical Case Teaching Method in Obstetric Clinical Teaching
Objective To explore the value of combining emergency simulation drills with typical case teaching methods in obstetrics clinical teaching.Methods Eighty medical students who had been doing internships in the obstetrics department of the First Affiliated Hospital of University of South China from May 2022 to February 2023 were selected and were randomly divided into a research group(n=40)and a control group(n=40).The study group adopted a combination of emergency simulation drills and typical case teaching,while the control group underwent conventional clinical teaching.The effectiveness of the teaching methods was evaluated by comparing the scores of professional theoretical knowledge and clinical practical ability exams between the two groups.After the teaching activities,the satisfaction of the students with the teaching methods was collected and analyzed using a teaching satisfaction survey.Results The total score of students in the study group(88.62±1.69)was higher than that of the control group(81.24±2.17),with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The scores of the study group students in both professional theoretical knowledge and clinical practice ability exams were higher than those of the control group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The study group students showed higher satisfaction with the teaching,and their scores in learning interest,learning effectiveness,self-directed learning ability,quick response ability,case analysis ability,practical operation ability,communication skills,and teamwork ability were higher than those of the control group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of emergency simulation drills and typical case teaching methods in obstetrics clinical teaching can effectively improve students'professional theoretical knowledge and clinical practical abilities,enhance their satisfaction with the teaching,demonstrating the feasibility of this teaching method in obstetrics clinical teaching.
