Study on the Practice of Rain Class Combined With CBL in Urology Probation
Objective To compare the teaching effectiveness of case-based learning(CBL)combined with Rain Class teaching method versus the traditional lecture method in the clinical probation of undergraduate students in urology. Methods A total of 68 students who were doing clinical probation in the Department of Urology at the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University from November 2022 to May 2023 were selected as research subjects and were randomly divided into two groups. The control group(n=34)was taught using traditional lecture-based teaching, while the experimental group(n=34)was taught using the Rain Classroom combined with CBL teaching. After class, the same examinations were taken and the same questionnaires were completed by both groups of students. The teaching effectiveness was evaluated based on the classroom theory examination scores and the questionnaire responses. Results The average score of the post-class theory examination of the experimental group was(84.26±15.03),which was higher than that of the control group(73.53±16.63),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.050).The questionnaire survey showed that the experimental group had higher independent learning, participation in classroom interaction, and overall evaluation than the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The experimental group was higher than the control group in clinical thinking ability, and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion The new teaching method of combining rain class with CBL can help to liven up the classroom atmosphere and stimulate learning enthusiasm, and can achieve good learning effects in the relevant theories and clinical practices of urology internship.
