Exosome Transplantation Therapy for Relieving Neuropathic Pain:a Review
Neuropathic pain(NPP)can persist in the absence of an exact etiology or tissue damage, and the pathophysiological mechanism is currently unknown, with the majority of pa-tients having poor treatment outcomes.Exosomes are small lipid bilayer vesicles that are released outside the cell by fusion of multivesicular endosomes with cell membranes.Exosomes carry ge-netic materials such as mRNA,microRNA,IncRNA,circRNA,and DNA,and have natural targe-ting properties, which can be taken up by target cells through endocytosis, and are involved in im-mune regulation, inflammatory response and other processes, and also in the process of various chronic pain diseases. This article reviews research progress on the palliative effect and mechanism of exosome transplantation therapy on NPP,as a way to throw light on clinical application of exo-some cell-free therapy for NPP.
