Effect of Dietary Fiber from Pueraria Lobata Residue on Gastrointestinal Peristalsis in Mice
Objective:To test whether the insoluble dietary fiber in Pueraria lobata residue can promote gastrointestinal peristalsis, and to test the difference of promoting effect of different concentrations of Pueraria lobata residue dietary fiber on gastrointestinal peristalsis. Methods:It had established a normal intestinal peristalsis inhibition model(constipation model),and then used intestinal movement test and mouse defecation test to detect whether the water-insoluble dietary fiber of Pueraria lobata residue has the effect of promoting gastrointestinal peristalsis,so as to judge whether the dietary fiber of Pueraria lobata residue has the effect of moistening intestines and defecating. Results:Compared with the model control group,in the small intestine movement experiment, there were significant differences in the small intestine ink advancing length and advancing rate among the high, medium and low dose groups. In the defecation experiment of mice, the high, medium and low dose groups had significant differences in the first stool time, the number of feces particles and the total amount of feces in 6 h(P<0.05).Conclusion:Water-insoluble dietary fiber from Pueraria lobata residue has the effect of moistening intestines and relieving constipation.
