Progress in the Treatment of Residual Low Back Pain after Percutaneous Vertebroplasty with Chinese and Western Medicine
Osteoporosis(OP)is a clinical condition in which the bone structure is damaged due to the decrease of bone mass and the increase of bone fragility in the elderly.Fracture is one of the major complications in OP patients, with osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures(OVCF)accounting for the highest rates, percutaneous vertebroplasty(PVP)has become the treatment of choice for these patients because of its fast, safe analgesic effect and minimally invasive technique. This technique mainly injects bone cement into the affected vertebra to restore the biomechanical strength of the vertebra, effectively improve the spinal deformity, and at the same time relieve pain. However, there are still many patients with postoperative low back pain and unfavorable activities.Residual low back pain after vertebroplasty treated with Chinese and Western medicine each has its own characteristic. This article mainly summarizes and elaborates the pathogenesis and treatment of residual low back pain after PVP in Chinese and western medicine,in order to provide a reference for clinical treatment.
