Clinical Application of Shiwei Wendan Decoction from the Relationship between Yin Blood Deficiency and Phlegm
The Shiwei Wendan Decoction was formulated by Yuan Dynasty physician WEI Yilin in his book ShiYi DeXiao Fang-Da Fang Mai-Xin Yang, which contains only ten ingredients, but it contains a method of nourishing yin blood and resolving phlegm simultaneously.Although it is generally believed that dampness and phlegm obstruction and yin blooddeficiency are difficult to be related in theory, learners may think that the formula's herbs are contradictory. However,Professor LIU Yingfeng believes that a commonly used formula must have a prescriptive logic for its syndrome type, and scholars should not be bound by common sense and prejudice, but should explore and understand it from the perspective of the organic combination of theory and clinical practice. Therefore, this paper explores the inner mechanism of the formula's herbs from the perspective of the inherent relationship between yin blood deficiency and dampness and phlegm obstruction, and uses clinical examples to verify it.
