Research on welding process of Q460ND steel for nuclear fuel transfer bracke
This article proposes the basic welding requirements for Q460ND low alloy high-strength structural steel used for nuclear power spent fuel transfer brackets by analyzing the weldability of this type of steel. The welding methods, welding materials, welding process parameters and post weld heat treatment specifications have been determined based on the structural characteristics of the equipment, quality risks of welding and re-quirements of relevant standards. And six sets of test plans have been developed according to the coverage range of important and supplementary factors in the welding procedure qualification standards. The evaluation speci-mens were cut into full thickness joint tensile specimens, weld and heat affected zone impact specimens, full section metallographic specimens, and hardness specimens for relevant tests after groove processing, assembly welding, heat treatment, and non-destructive testing of welds in accordance with the welding process evaluation standards. The results of non-destructive testing and destructive testing indicate that the Q460ND steel welding joint made using the selected welding method, welding material, welding process parameters, and post weld heat treatment specifications has excellent performance, laying a foundation for effectively supporting equipment welding.
