Value View and Prospect of Value-Added Evaluation of Comprehensive Quality of Primary and Secondary School Students——Based on the Empirical Study of Pilot Cities for"Students'Comprehensive Quality Evaluation Supported by Information Technology"by the Minis
Based on the pilot work of"students'comprehensive quality evaluation supported by information technology"of the Ministry of Education, comprehensive quality evaluation data of 5124 7th grade students enrolled in autumn 2022 from 29 junior middle schools in a pilot city were collected, and the student growth percentile(SGP)model was used to conduct value-added evaluation of the comprehensive quality development of these students. The results show that the value-added evaluation of students'comprehensive quality can provide multidimensional feedback information, beyond academic value-added evaluation, and is a useful supplement to the traditional evaluation methods, and should be included in the regional education evaluation system. The SGP model,by focusing on measuring the relative growth of students within similar ability groups, can effectively circumvent the biases in evaluation caused by ceiling and floor effects. It is feasible and efficient to apply in the value-added evaluation of regional students'comprehensive quality.Educational administrators and researchers should attach importance to the application of the value-added evaluation results of students'comprehensive quality, leverage the diagnostic and improvement functions of evaluation, and further focus on strengthening the evaluation foundation, exploring combination evaluations, enhancing statistical methodological research, and reinforcing the application research of results.
