Doctoral Students'Academic Innovation Ability:Theoretical Model,Assessment Tools and Application
The grounded theory exploration with 42 academic doctoral students and 24 doctoral supervisors show that the academic innovation ability of doctoral students is a"five-factor structural"initial model.Then,through a survey of 527 doctoral students,a"three-factor"structural model of doctoral students'academic innovation ability was finally constructed(research process innovation,research result innovation and academic research quality),and the corresponding questionnaire was developed.Factor analysis results show that the questionnaire has good reliability and validity.Applied research shows that the academic innovation ability of doctoral students is relatively low,especially the research result innovation ability and process innovation ability.Self-rated academic innovation of doctoral students is relatively higher among male students,students with internal motivation to pursue a doctoral degree,students with academic employment expectations,more participation in academic conferences,and no conflicts with their supervisors.Finally,the paper puts forward a series of suggestions on the cultivation of doctoral students'academic innovation ability.
