Under the general trend of promoting entrepreneurship-led employment, improving the level of entrepreneurial competency of college students has become an important tool for the national strategy of expanding employment.Based on this, this study used questionnaire data from 7,609 college students regarding the"assessment of innovative abilities and innovation literacy."The study analyzed the impact and driving pathways of college students'family socioeconomic status and social support on their entrepreneurial competence through multiple linear regression and stepwise regression testing methods. The research found that both college students'family socioeconomic status and social support have a positive influence on their entrepreneurial competence, with informal support having a greater impact than formal support.Additionally, college students'family socioeconomic status positively drives their entrepreneurial competence through two pathways:formal support and informal support, with the driving effect of the informal support pathway being significantly stronger than the formal support pathway. Therefore,it is important to establish a multi-party collaborative mechanism of innovation and entrepreneurship education among society, institutions and families to implement the strategy of promoting employment through entrepreneurship.
