Returning to Chen Heqin:A teleological interpretation of Chinese Education Modernization
Chen Heqin's educational teleology of"being a human,being a Chinese and being a modern Chinese"provides a theoretical framework for the interpretation of"Chinese education modernization."First of all,inspired by Chen Heqin's discussion of"being a human,"we can see in a larger academic field of vision,The purpose of Chinese education modernization should be to"cultivate students'rationality,realize the free and comprehensive development of human beings,""cultivate students'ability to participate in public life and become qualified citizens,""train students to master human symbol system and promote cultural inheritance and innovation."Secondly,although Chen Heqin believes that"being a Chinese"should be understood from a cultural perspective,he does not specifically discuss what"Chinese"means.After summarizing the domestic and foreign scholars'understanding of"Chinese,"we can find that Chinese education modernization should at least include the education of national character,the education of not forgetting one's origin and the education of confidence in its culture.Finally,inspired by Chen Heqin's idea of"being a modem Chinese,"we can according to the transformation of traditional culture and the requirements of the times to clarify the goal orientation of democratic education and scientific education in the process of Chinese education modernization,and to clarify the talent demand of Chinese education modernization.
