A Study on Spatial Distribution Characteristics and Influencing Factors of Principal Positive Leadership:Based on the Empirical Analysis of the 96 Counties in Jiangsu Province
Under the background of positive education movement, the concept of principal positive leadership comes into being, but there are few researches on its current situation and influencing factors. In view of this, this study investigated 5508 principals in Jiangsu Province, drew a map of principal positive leadership of in compulsory education schools by district and county to visually present the current situation of principal positive leadership, and constructed a spatial econometrics model and a multiple linear regression model to explore the influencing factors of principal positive leadership. The results show that the current situation of principal positive leadership of compulsory education schools in Jiangsu province is different in districts. The spatial distribution characteristics of primary schools are"regional concentration"while that of junior middle schools is"politicized decentralization".Principal's gender, educational background, school's material conditions,school-running autonomy and atmosphere have significant influence on principal's positive leadership, and primary school principals'positive leadership performance also has positive spatial spillover effect. Therefore,it is suggested that we should to attach importance to the role of county-level government in education reform, reshape the evaluation orientation of principal selection and appointment, strengthen the conformal development of schools, persist in the combination of targeted empowerment and decentralization and management, and strengthen cross-district principal exchanges and cooperation.
