Soil Enzyme Activities in Typical Vegetation Zones along an Altitude Gradient in Mao'er Mountain
For the study of variation of soil enzyme activities in typical vegetation zones along an altitude gradient in Mao'er Mountain,5 soil enzyme activities were analyzed in 4 typical vegetation zones. The results showed that soil phosphatase, polyphenol oxidase and catalase activities increased along with the altitude gradient, but soil urease and sucrase activities decreased. The correlation analysis results showed that in addition to total phosphorus, soil catalase activity had the significant or extremely significant correlation with soil physicochemical properties. The correlations between catalase activity with urease and sucrase activities were significantly negative.Soil catalase activity was the most significant between soil enzyme activities and soil physicochemical properties. The variation of soil enzyme activities in typical vegetation zones along an altitude gradient in Mao'er Mountain showed a particular property, this result revealed the difference of soil enzyme activities, and spatial distribution in different elevations, meanwhile provided a theoretical basis for utilization and improvements of forest soil in Mao'er mountains.
