Effects of Wheat Powdery Mildew on the Photosynthetic Physiological Characteristics of Wheat Seedlings
To reveal the influence of powdery mildew on photosynthetic characteristics of wheat seedlings with different resistance, the cultivar Qingchun38 (highly resistant to powdery mildew) and Longmai33 (highly sensitive to powdery mildew) were infected by strongly pathogenic stain Blumeria graminis f.sp.Tritici E09.The total chlorophyll content, the photosynthetic rate (Pn),soluble protein, and the activity of intracellular superoxide dismutase (SOD),catalase (CAT),peroxidase (POD) in leaves at the 0 d,1 d,2 d,4 d,6 d,8 d and 10 d after the infection were analyzed. The results showed that the relative content of chlorophyll, photosynthetic rate and soluble protein in Qingchun38 and Longmai33 decreased in different degrees after infection, and the decreasing range of Longmai33 was larger than that of Qingchun 38.After inoculation, the relative SOD,POD and CAT activities of the two cultivars showed the trend of increasing at first and then decreasing, and the relative SOD activity was higher in Longmai 33 than in Qingchun 38,while the relative activity of POD in Qingchun38 was significantly higher than in Longmai 33,and the relative activity of CAT was similar but appeared at different times between Qingchun 38 and Longmai 33.
