Genome-wide Identification and Expression Analysis of the GRF Gene Family in Potato
Growth-regulating factor(GRF)family genes encode plant-specific transcription factors that play critical roles in many biologi-cal processes such as plant growth and development, and stress response. In this study, bioinformatics approaches were employed for the genome-wide identification and expression pattern analysis of the GRF gene family in potato(Solanum tuberosum).A total of 12 GRF fam-ily genes(StGRF1~StGRF12)were identified in the potato genome, and their encoded proteins both contain the QLQ domains and WRC domains. The StGRF were distributed on 9 chromosomes of potato, and chromosomal segmental duplications may have contributed to the expansion of this gene family.Phylogenetic analysis showed that StGRF could be divided into 5 groups, and members from the same group exhibited similar gene structures and conserved motif distribution.Abundant elements associated with hormone and stress responsive ele-ments were found in the promoter regions of StGRF genes;Expression pattern analysis demonstrated diverse expression characteristics of StGRF across different developmental stages and tissues of potato, indicating that different members may exert specific regulatory roles during the growth and development processes of potato. The results of this study can provide a basis for further functional analysis of StGRF.
