Comparison and Selection of the Medium-voltage Power Supply Scheme for a Large Industrial Building
Large industrial buildings usually have a large floor area and power consumption, which exceed the power supply capacity of a single municipal 10 kV circuit. For such projects, one municipal 35 kV incoming line or multiple 10 kV circuits may be used as power supply. The 35 kV incoming line can supply power to the end equipments through secondary step-down or primary step-down.The advantages and disadvantages of the secondary step-down scheme for 35 kV incoming line, the primary step-down scheme for 35 kV incoming line, and the scheme for multiple 10 kV circuits are compared from technical and economic perspectives,in order to provide the optimal medium-voltage power supply scheme for large industrial buildings.
