Selection Strategy for Installation Inclination Angle of Distributed Photovoltaic Systems on Roofs with Limited Space
The solar irradiation calculation model of a distributed photovoltaic(PV)system for roofs with limited space considering array shadow shading is studied, and eight representative cities in China are selected to study the effects of different installation inclination angles on the installed capacity, power generation and rate of return on capital of the project. The findings show that it is not necessary to use the optimal inclination angle of total annual irradiation as the installation inclination angle for distributed PV projects on roofs with limited space.Appropriately lowering the installation inclination can significantly increase the installed capacity and power generation with essentially no impact on the rate of return on capital. This phenomenon is more pronounced for projects in high latitudes.
