With the continuous development and application of UAV aerial survey 3D modeling technology, this paper analyzes and discusses the application of this technology in geological disaster monitoring. In a specific geological disaster area, the principles and applications of UAV aerial survey 3D modeling technology are analyzed.UAV aerial surveys can quickly obtain high-resolution topographic images, typically at altitudes between 50 to 200 meters and speeds ranging from 2 to 5m/s,capable of capturing aerial images over several square kilometers. After processing, the obtained 3D data can be used to create high-precision 3D models with horizontal accuracy of±0.1~±0.5m and vertical accuracy of±0.05~±0.2m.In geological disaster monitoring, these 3D models can intuitively identify potential hazard points, such as the boundaries of landslides and the lengths and widths of cracks.By comparing the same period's 3D model with those from different periods, the deformation of geological disaster bodies can be promptly determined, such as displacement rates and settlement amounts.Through the analysis of related technologies and applications, this paper proposes new ideas and methods for geological disaster monitoring, enhancing the accuracy and timeliness of such monitoring.
