Experiment on Shear Behavior of Perforated Corrugated Web Girders with Rectangular Tubular Flange
To investigate the shear behavior of opening corrugated web girders with rectangular tubular flange, shear tests of four specimens were designed and conducted. The shear behavior, ultimate loading capacity and shear distribution ratio of corrugated web with opening to the whole cross-section were investigated by analyzing failure modes,load-displacement curves and strain development law in critical regions of specimens.Numerical simulations were conducted using ABAQUS software, and the simulation results were compared with the experimental results to verify the accuracy of the finite element model. The effects of geometric initial imperfection in the web and the eccentricity of opening on shear capacity were investigated. The results show that the girder has better ductility and shear capacity of the girder will decrease as the increase of opening diameter, while it will increase as the density of web corrugation increase. The lateral eccentricity of opening does not have a significant effect on the shear capacity of the girder. An approximate formula for calculating the shear distribution ratio of the girder is recommended. The geometrical initial imperfection of corrugated web has a negligible effect on the shear capacity of the girder.
