Research on Carbon Emission Calculation for Green Building Material Production:A Case Study of Nanjing
To address the challenge of quantifying carbon emissions from green building materials and their reduction benefits, this study examines the selection of raw materials and production processes of green building materials.Based on the emission factor method,a carbon emission calculation method for the production of green building materials was developed and applied to an empirical study of selected products in Nanjing. The results indicate that the carbon emissions of green building materials are reduced by 16.6%to 70.59%compared to conventional materials.Additionally, the analysis of carbon emissions across various stages of green building materials production suggests that focusing on the raw materials acquisition and transportation stages can achieve further reductions. This study not only provides quantitative evidence for the carbon reduction benefits of green building materials but also offers guidance for further optimizing their production processes.
