Carbon Emission Efficiency of the Construction Industry:A Study Based on the Super-Efficient Three-Stage SBM Model
The construction industry, known for its high carbon intensity and energy consumption, has come under increased scrutiny in the context of the"dual-carbon target."This paper applied the emission factor method and the three-stage SBM(Slacks-Based Measure)model to evaluate the carbon emissions and carbon emission efficiency of the construction industry in Shaanxi Province from 2013 to 2022.The findings reveal a spatial pattern of carbon emissions, with higher emissions in northern Shaanxi, followed by central Guanzhong, and the lowest in southern Shaanxi. The third-stage efficiency results indicate that the overall carbon emission efficiency in Shaanxi Province is relatively low.A comparison of efficiency values before and after adjusting for environmental variables and random errors underscores the significant impact of external factors, although this influence is gradually diminishing.Additionally, the analysis highlights pronounced regional disparities in efficiency across cities, with a trend toward narrowing regional differences over time.
