Study on functionalized polyphenylene ether anion exchange membrane with alkoxylated flexible long branch benzimidazole
This article synthesized a functionalized polyphenylene ether anion exchange membrane containing alkoxy flexible long branched benzimidazole and characterized it accordingly. The prepared anion exchange membrane ex-hibits high OH-conductivity and superior chemical stability. The conductivity of PPO-OH-M4 is 35.4(m·S)/cm at 20 ℃.When the temperature rises to 60 ℃,the conductivity increases to 55.7(m·S)/cm,demonstrating su-perior ion conductivity. The interaction between hydrophilic flexible long branched chains and hydrophobic main chains forms a clear microphase separation, constructing a continuous ion transport channel. After soaking PPO-OH-M4 in a 1 mol/L KOH solution at 80 ℃ for 340 h,the conductivity remained at 87.5%.The aggregation and coiling of long alkoxy branched chains effectively weaken the attack of OH-on functional groups, providing new i-deas for the synthesis of high-performance anion exchange membranes.
