Determination of formaldehyde in fuel hydrogen by gas chromatography with electronic concentration and enrichment
Hydrogen fuel cells are the main direction for the development of new energy in the future.Formaldehyde is one of the impurity components in fuel hydrogen, which has a toxic effect on fuel cells. Therefore, accurately measuring the formaldehyde content in fuel hydrogen is extremely important. This article establishes a detection method for formaldehyde in hydrogen based on electronic pre concentration enrichment gas chromatography pulse helium ion detector. The detection limit of formaldehyde in simulated fuel hydrogen was measured by diluting form-aldehyde with high-purity hydrogen gas.The effects of concentration volume, background blowing time, analytical blowing time, analytical temperature, and analytical time on formaldehyde peak were investigated, and the optimal analytical conditions were obtained. The optimized conditions were used to detect formaldehyde standard sub-stances,and the results showed that the detection limit for formaldehyde was 0.03 ppm, with an RSD of 3%.This method avoids human interference and has good repeatability, providing a reliable technical means for the determi-nation of formaldehyde in fuel hydrogen.
