HPLC determination of MDI raw material monomers and their autopolymer distribution in polyurethane industrial adhesive
The distribution of two commonly used MDI raw material monomers and their self polymers was deter-mined using HPLC.Derive MDI from methanol or ethanol, using Agilent ZORBAX Eclipse XDB-C18 column as the analytical column, with column temperature of 35 ℃,flow rate of 1.0 mL/min,and injection volume of 10 μL.Mobile phase methanol and water gradient elution, detection wavelength 245 nm for analysis and detection. The re-sults show that methanol derivates faster, has better solubility, and has an earlier peak time than ethanol; The deri-vation conditions of MDI-50 are milder than those of MDI-100L,and it can be quickly derived at room temperature, while MDI-100L requires heating in an oven to be well derived and dissolved. The method proposed in this article meets the analysis requirements for the distribution of MDI raw material monomers and their self polymers in polyu-rethane industrial adhesives, and provides technical support for accurate quantification of MDI monomer content in polyurethane industrial adhesives in the future.
