Analysis on the combustion toxicity of polyurethane foam
The toxicity of polyurethane foam during combustion is a serious environmental hazard.Although tradi-tional flame retardants improve the flame resistance of materials, they still release toxic gases and smoke during combustion, posing a threat to the environment and human health. This research developed a new halogen-free en-vironmental flame retardant YKGB-100,which aims to improve the flame retardancy of polyurethane foam without changing the original foaming process, and significantly reduce harmful smoke and gas generated during combus-tion.YKGB-100 was used to treat polyurethane foam, and a series of standardized tests were carried out.The study confirmed that it can effectively reduce the release of harmful smoke and gas while improving the flame retardancy of the material. In addition, observations of behavior and weight changes in mice indicate the potential biological ad-vantages of YKGB-100 in reducing combustion toxicity.Therefore,YKGB-100 provides a new scheme to effectively reduce the combustion toxicity of polyurethane foam, which is of great significance to environmental protection and health and safety.
