Analysis of the application of plastic instead of steel in automotive parts under the concept of lightweight design
With the rapid development of plastic materials,they have been increasingly widely used in the field of automobile manufacturing,especially in the production of automotive interior and exterior parts,leading to the rise of the trend of"replacing steel with plastic".Plastic materials not only have good plasticity,but also meet the re-quirements of vehicle lightweight design,respond to the national call for energy conservation,emission reduction,and green environmental protection,and inject new vitality into the sustainable development of the automotive in-dustry.The article analyzes the concept of lightweight design for automobiles,the value of replacing steel with plas-tic in automotive parts,and its practical application.In order to provide useful references for the sustained and in-novative development of the automotive industry.
