In order to study the torsional behavior of reinforced PVA-ECC members under combined loading, the monotonic loading tests of nine PVA-ECC columns and one reinforced concrete(RC)column were carried out.Different axial compression ratio,torsion-bending ratio, shear span ratio, longitudinal reinforcement ratio and stirrup spacing were considered as the parameters, the failure characteristics and torque-torque ratio curve characteristics were studied, and the damage evolution was analyzed. The results show that the stress process of PVA-ECC specimens have experienced elastic stage,elastic-plastic stage and failure stage;compared with RC specimens,PVA-ECC specimens have great improvement in torsional bearing capacity and torsional deformation.Reducing axial compression ratio, increasing torsion-bending ratio and shear-span ratio can effectively improve the torsional ductility of specimens, while reducing stirrup spacing and shear-span ratio and increasing axial compression ratio can effectively delay the cracking of specimens. The use of PVA-ECC materials can effectively inhibit the damage development of the specimen. The shear-span ratio, longitudinal reinforcement ratio and stirrup spacing have great influence on the damage of the specimens under the combined torsion. The greater longitudinal reinforcement ratio, the smaller shear span ratio and stirrup spacing, the smaller the damage degree of the specimens under the combined torsion.
