The Olympic ice and snow center in Baotou is a out-of-code high-rise building.A frame structure is adopted for the bottom concrete part of the structure,a two-way cross plane truss systems is used for the part of floor which has a longer span, and a three-dimensional truss is used for the roof. The spacial relationship between each floor is relatively complicated, thus the structure has properties such as torsional irregularity, inconsistent floor slab, structure over-length and contains staggered-floor.Performance-based seismic design method was adoptd in structural design.YJK,PMSAP and MIDAS Gen were used to perform elastic analysis and comparisons for the structure, and Paco-spa was used to carry out a dynamic elastoplastic analysis. In addition to the above analysis, special analysis on the comfort level of long-span floor slab, overall stability of steel floor and roof, key joints, collapse resistance of floor and roof was conducted,as well as the special analysis on the temperature stress and weak floor slab stress.According to the analytical results, targeted strengthening measures were adopted for the key areas and key members of the structure. It is shown by the calculation results that all indicators of the structure meet the requirement of standard and the stated goal of its seismic performance design, the design of the structure is reasonable, safe and feasible.
