Foundation design of large storage tank in collapsible loess ground
Based on the construction of a 10×104m3 large steel storage tank project on a collapsible loess site,in-depth analysis and research were conducted from the aspects of foundation selection,bearing capacity design,foundation treatment,water filling and preloading,settlement observation,etc.The foundation treatment plans were compared from the aspects of economy and construction operability.It was determined to use deep dynamic compaction pile in hole+lime soil cushion,and pre-humidification technology was proposed for collapsible soil layers with low moisture content.To achieve the optimal moisture content of the soil layer and solve the problems of difficult pile sinking,difficult pipe pulling,and difficulty in eliminating collapsibility,settlement observation was carried out after water filling and preloading.The results show that the foundation settlement increases with the increase of water filling load and tends to stabilize after 15d.The settlement around the storage tank is greater than the center point,but the settlement is smaller than the estimated value.The foundation treatment effect has reached the expected level.
