Review of studies on shear resisting mechanisms and calculation methods of shear capacity of RC beam-column joints
The research results on the seismic performance of beam-column joints in frame structures at home and abroad were summarized. The failure modes and shear resisting mechanism of joints during loading were analyzed. The typical calculation models of shear capacity of beam-column joints were summarized. The applicability of the existing calculation models of shear capacity was compared based on the specifications of various countries. The differences of shear capacity calculation between American code ACI 318-19 and European code EC2 were compared. It is pointed out that the calculation results of shear capacity of beam-column joints recommended by Code for design of concrete structures(GB 50010-2010)(2015 edition)are relatively conservative. It is suggested to increase the stirrup ratio in the core area of the joint,so as to improve the bonding performance between the steel bar and the concrete in the core area and reduce the bond slip phenomenon of the longitudinal reinforcement.
