Shaking table tests on underground LNG tank with various burial depth
Compared with the above-ground LNG tank,the underground LNG tank has the advantages of better seismic resistance and higher safety.Its engineering application is the development trend of LNG tank structure,and there is no precedent for the application of underground LNG tank in the Chinese mainland.Shaking table test is an important means to study the seismic response of underground LNG tank.In order to investigate the seismic response characteristics of underground LNG tank under different seismic intensity,different liquid level and different buried depth,two sets of shaking table tests of layered shear test tank were designed and carried out based on a structural model.The LNG tank model is simplified with reference to a 220 000m3 LNG tank,and the liquid,structure and soil(including bedrock)are similarly designed considering the dynamic interaction between liquid and structure and between soil and structure.Through the test design,the model and boundary are set reasonably.The seismic response rules under different working conditions were investigated by shaking table test,and the dynamic response characteristics of LNG tank structure were obtained.The experimental results show that some of the characteristics of the liquid-structure-soil interaction are consistent with the experimental results and classical theories.
