Analysis and design of a super high-rise structure with core wall offset in Shanghai city
Due to the functional and aesthetic requirements, offset core wall structures is gradually increasing in high-rise and super high-rise projects. The structural system of concrete-filled steel tube columns-steel frames-concrete shear wall cores is adopted in a 280m super high-rise building with an offset core wall structure in Shanghai city. The main challenge in structural design lies in the significant torsional effects induced by the offset core wall under seismic and wind loads.Openings for elevator shafts in the core wall result in the outermost walls being subjected to tension, and uneven mass and stiffness distribution lead to considerable horizontal displacements of the structure under vertical loads.Detailed analyses were conducted focusing on the structural torsional resistance, bearing capacity of core wall components, and overall horizontal deformation considering shrinkage and creep. The seismic performance of the overall structure and its components in line with the set performance objectives were verified through rare earthquake elastoplastic analysis, which ensure the safety and reliability of the overall structure and its components.
