Research on stress performance of welded cast steel-steel plate cable clamp
The stress performance of welded cast steel-steel plate cable clamp in wheel-spoke tensile roof system of Shanghai Pudong Football Stadium was studied.Both the feature of roof system and the composite of cable clamp were described.Tests on three different sizes of full-scale cable clamp were carried out.The performance of cable clamp and their final failure mode were investigated when the radial cable was subjected to design force,maximum design tension and breaking force,respectively.The experimental results indicate that the load bearing capacitiy of these cable clamps can meet the requirement of design.The finite element analysis of the cable clamp tested was conducted and the applicability of the finite element models was validated by experimental results.The stress distribution in the whole cable clamp was observed clearly.The suggestions for structural details and fabrication of the cable clamps were put forward.
