Research on vertical distribution characteristics and calculation method of turbulence intensity above urban canopy based on Beijing 325m Meteorological Tower
In order to study the vertical distribution characteristics of urban atmospheric boundary layer turbulence which is closely related to wind load, the statistical analysis was performed on the turbulence observation data at different heights of Beijing 325m Meteorological Tower throughout the four seasons. The measured and extrapolated value of turbulence intensity profile were compared and analyzed. The results show that the extrapolated results of the turbulence intensity profile obtained by using the 10m turbulence intensity and wind profile power exponent recommended by Load code for the design of building structures(GB 50009-2012)are obviously less than the measured values considering light wind conditions. The recommended parameters are not suitable for the extrapolation of the turbulence intensity profile in developed urban boundary layer. The relative error between the measured values and the extrapolated values of turbulence intensity profile using the measured wind profile power exponent and the measured value of turbulence intensity at 8m(within the urban canopy)is more than 20%.The relative error between the measured values and the extrapolated values of turbulence intensity profile using the measured wind profile power exponent and the measured value of turbulence intensity at 47m(above the urban canopy)is less than 9%.Therefore,the method of extrapolating the turbulence intensity profile based on the measured values of turbulence intensity above the urban canopy and the measured wind profile power exponent can obtain results that are relatively close to the measured values. This calculation method is feasible and reliable.
