Investigation and analysis on seismic performance of rural residential buildings in Beijing area
Building collapse is the main cause of property loss and casualties in earthquakes. In order to carry out the construction of a resilient city in Beijing, understand the seismic performance of rural residential buildings in Beijing area, and improve the comprehensive ability of urban and rural earthquake prevention and disaster reduction,a sampling survey was conducted on 7 518 rural residential buildings in Changping District,Huairou District,Yanqing District,Pinggu District, and Chaoyang District of Beijing.Through analysis of four aspects of rural residential structure types, age distribution of different structural types, seismic construction and structural layout, building materials and site selection design and construction,it is pointed out that there are seismic weak links in rural residential areas in Beijing, including substandard seismic fortification,non-standard site selection and design construction, and unreasonable use and maintenance management.Relevant measures were proposed to improve the seismic performance of rural residential areas, such as comprehensively carrying out safety appraisal and reinforcement projects for rural residential buildings, standardizing new buildings, strengthening scientific guidance services, and enhancing farmers'awareness of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction.
