Design suggestion for special boundary element of T-shaped shear wall
The configuration of special boundary element has a great influence on the seismic behavior of shear wall, and the relevant provisions of the reinforcement and the length of special boundary elements of T-shaped shear wall may be inappropriate in the seismic code.In order to study the reasonable configuration of special boundary elements of T-shaped shear wall,T-shaped shear wall fiber models were established based on the finite element platform OpenSEES,and the simulation results are in good agreement with the test data, which verified the rationality and reliability of the finite element model. On this basis, the effects of the longitudinal reinforcement ratio of special boundary element at the flange end and the special boundary element length at the free end of the web on the seismic behavior of the T-shaped shear wall were studied. The results show that the seismic code is too conservative in the longitudinal reinforcement configuration of the special boundary element at the flange end of T-shaped shear wall. The seismic behavior of T-shaped shear wall can be significantly improved by decreasing the ratio of longitudinal reinforcement of special boundary element at the flange end and increasing the length of special boundary element at web end,and the steel consumption is reduced. With reference to American code ACI 318-19,a simplified method for determining the length of special boundary elements at the web end of T-shaped shear wall was proposed, and the design suggestions for special boundary elements of T-section shear wall were given.
