Experimental study on seismic performance of brick masonry structure durability deterioration and reinforcement repair
In order to study the seismic performance of the eroded brick masonry structure, three brick wall specimens were designed and fabricated, and the apparent damage and seismic performance of the brick wall under the combined action of Na2SO4 and MgSO4 erosion solution were analyzed. At the same time,in order to study the applicability of the existing reinforcement methods to the eroded brick wall, the steel mesh-ordinary cement mortar surface layer and high ductility cement matrix composite surface layer were used to reinforce the eroded brick wall. Finally, the failure mode, hysteretic behavior, skeleton curve, stiffness degradation and energy dissipation capacity of each specimen were analyzed by quasi-static test. The results show that the chemical products of mortar after erosion include gypsum, ettringite and hydrated magnesium silicate, and Na2SO4 crystal is formed on the surface of brick wall. The seismic performance of the eroded brick wall is worse than that of the ordinary brick wall, and its bearing capacity is about 90%of that of the ordinary brick wall after 180 days of erosion. The seismic performance of brick walls can be significantly improved by using steel mesh-ordinary cement mortar surface layer and high ductility cement matrix composite surface layer reinforcement method. When reinforcing the eroded brick wall,a reliable connection method should be used to ensure that the reinforcement layer and the brick wall work together.
