Structural design of new Hubei Provincial Science and Technology Museum
The new Hubei Provincial Science and Technology Museum is a complex high-rise structure with a large-span and large-overhang.Four cylindrical giant columns composed of rectangular steel tube concrete columns and steel supports(steel plate walls)were arranged in four elevator shafts.Giant beams composed of four cable-stayed long cantilever cross-story steel trusses are supported by giant columns, forming a new type of large-span giant steel frame structure system.A new joint seismic reduction scheme using BRB and ribbed wall seismic device is adopted inside four cylindrical giant columns to reduce seismic effects.Four giant beams are equipped with stay-cables to reduce vertical deformation in the large overhanging area. The immersive cinema in the atrium adopts a new type of hyperbolic reticulated shell structure system with upper suspension and lower support, and adopts intersecting welded nodes lined with circular steel pipes to ensure the rigid connection of the mesh shell nodes.Seismic reduction analysis was carried out under earthquakes with BRB and ribbed wall seismic devices, finite element analysis and node testing of complex cast steel nodes connected to trusses and columns, serviceability analysis and human induced vibration measurement of large-overhanging corners on three and four floors, and low cycle reciprocating load testing of long cantilever structures were carried out.The results show that the structure system of the new Hubei Provincial Science and Technology Museum is reasonable, and all parts meet the design requirements.
