Research progress on key issues of local buckling of thin-walled steel plate
Steel structures and steel-concrete composite structures are widely utilized in engineering structures due to their excellent properties such as high strength, good energy absorption capacity, and convenient construction. However, with the application of high-strength steel,thin-walled steel plates exhibit a trend of thinning, and the width-thickness ratios increase with the enlargement of component cross-sectional dimensions.Due to the complexity of engineering structures and loads, the risk of premature local buckling of steel plates is continuously increasing. The problem of local buckling of thin-walled steel plates is prominent and urgently requires systematic and in-depth research. An overview of the progress in the study of local buckling of thin-walled steel plates was provided, the limitations of existing experimental and theoretical research was analyzed and summarized, and a series of research works and achievements focusing on the critical issues of local buckling of thin-walled steel plates was conducted by the author's research team in recent years.
