Application case of building design bidding using generative intelligent structural design
Bidding is a crucial component of a building design project,with a short execution period and strong collaboration between the various disciplines of architecture,structure,pipeline,etc.Improving the possibility of bid success is highly dependent on the quality of the design outcomes.Consequently,efficient building structural scheme design is a key requirement in the bidding stage.Currently,manual design methods are only capable of producing a limited number of structural scheme designs in an efficient amount of time,and it is difficult to effectively service many architectural schemes.In contrast,the generative intelligent structural design method has a strong design ability due to the learning of a large amount of structural design data,and can complete the structural scheme design supporting various architectural designs in a short time,supporting the comparison and selection of multiple plans of architectural design.Oriented to bidding design requirements,this study integrates the intelligent design approach of building structure schemes and automates the entire design process,including structural design drawings,structural analysis models,and material consumption data.Subsequently,it was implemented in an actual bidding project.The results show that the efficiency of generative intelligent structural design for a single building is around 10 to 15 times greater than that of human design,and multiple project designs can be undertaken simultaneously.The structural mechanical qualities of intelligent design fulfill the criteria of the specification,and the material consumption is consistent with the engineer's design.
