Sanxingdui Museum of Ancient Shu Cultural Relics adopts the steel frame structure.The roof of the exhibition hall area adopts a composite grid structure,and the structural plane,facade and spatial relationship are rather complicated.To improve the structural seismic performance and achieve a given performance objective,this structure was designed applying supplemental passive energy dissipation methods,which equipped with buckling restrained braces(BRB)and viscous fluid dampers(VFD).Structure system and key points of this project were briefly introduced,and the structural damping design methods of the project were discussed in detail.The additional damping ratio and energy dissipation of the structure under each level of earthquake,the seismic response of the damping structure and the non-damping structure,and the elastoplastic damage of the structure under rare earthquakes were investigated.The results show that under the action of rare earthquakes,the overall indicators of the structure such as floor shear force and inter-story displacement angle of the damping structure are significantly reduced.The hysteretic curves of BRBs and VFDs are full,which dissipates more seismic energy.The seismic performance and safety reserve of the structure are improved,and the expected damping design goals and seismic performance goals are achieved.
