Structural design of partial cable-stayed steel roof of Hohhot Shengle International Airport
The architectural design of Hohhot Shengle International Airport incorporates elements of yurts, and the steel roof of the main building adopts a structural form of local cable-stayed and oblique plane truss to strengthen this architectural intention. To understand the stress characteristics of this new structural form and verify its reliability, firstly on the formation logic, structural composition, and overall stress characteristics of the roof system were elaborated. Then, the overall calculation indicators of the roof structure, the influence of temperature on the super long roof, and the influence of the lower structure joints on the overall roof across the joints were introduced. And based on numerical analysis, several issues closely related to the characteristics of cable-stayed structures were studied, including the overall stability of the shuttle shaped sway column, factors affecting the cable force of the inclined cables, the design of cable nodes, and the impact of shuttle shaped column and inclined cable failures on the roof structure's resistance to continuous collapse. The safety and reliability of this new structural system were demonstrated. Finally, detailed requirements were proposed for the construction tensioning sequence and construction simulation analysis of the cables.
