Development of ECC materials properties and its applications in building structure
Engineered cementitious composites(ECC)material is a fiber-reinforced cement-based composite material prepared under the guidance of micromechanical principles. After years of development, its strength and ductility have been significantly improved and gradually applied in engineering structures. The basic mechanical properties of ECC materials, the basic mechanical properties of reinforced engineered cementitious composites(RECC)members composed of steel bars and ECC materials, and the application of ECC materials in the plastic hinge zone of structural members were reviewed and summarized. The results show that the ECC materials can not only significantly improve the load capacity, deformation capacity and energy dissipation capacity of RECC members, but also effectively control the crack width for of RECC members and improve the durability of engineering structures. However, there are also some problems in the existing research, such as the low ductility of ECC materials and the lack of research on the basic mechanical properties and long-term performance of RECC members.
