Experimental study on flexural performance of PRC pipe piles joints
In order to investigate the factors affecting the joint performance of hybrid reinforced concrete piles(PRC pipe piles),three groups of eight PRC pipe pile joints were tested for flexural performance, and the curvilinear relationship between bending moment and deflection in the span of PRC pipe piles as well as the damage form were obtained. The influence of the tension ratio, tensioning method and joint form of prestressed reinforcement on the bending capacity of PRC pipe pile joints was analyzed, and the ultimate bending moment value obtained from the tests was compared with the theoretical calculation value of the specification. The results show that under the same condition, the PRC pipe pile has the strongest ultimate bending capacity when tension stress of prestressed reinforcement is 50%,and the maximum deflection-span ratio is 1/129.When the prestressed reinforcement and non-prestressed reinforcement are tensioned at the same time, the ductility and load carrying capacity of the PRC pile pile can be improved to some extent, and the maximum deflection-span ratio is 1/66.The jacketed steel pipe at the head of the pile has the most obvious effect on the strength of the joints but is more likely to cause the stress concentration at the joints. The bending capacity of the joint is about 64%~82%of the bending capacity of the pile body.Considering all the factors, the bending capacity of the joint is higher and safer when anchoring bars are added to the pile head.
